Leading at Scale
The section about Always Be Deciding deeply resonates with me.
After you understand the trade-offs and how they work, youโre empowered. You can use this information to make the best decision for this particular month. Next month, you might need to reevaluate and rebalance the trade-offs again; itโs an iterative process.
Itโs possible to come back to most decisions, so itโs often better to decide and move on than to stand still. This also means choosing not to do something.
This then logically goes to the section on Always Be Scaling
ย If dropping some number of balls is inevitable, isnโt it better to drop certain ballsย deliberately rather thanย accidentally? At least then you have some semblance of control.
Itโs often better mentally to decide to not do something than attempting to keep up with everything but not having the time to do so.
